Job Title: Streets Light Equipment Operator/Laborer General
Statement of Duties: Operate equipment engaged in the construction
and maintenance of streets, including backhoe, dump truck, water truck, roller
and chipper. Patch streets using asphalt cold mix. Create street signs. Assist
with parks maintenance. Trim trees and brush. Required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of methods, practices, equipment,
and materials used in the maintenance of roadways and safe operation of
equipment. Ability to operate equipment used in street construction and
maintenance; tolerate outside working conditions, including exposure to adverse
weather conditions; communicate effectively orally and in writing; establish
and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and the general
public. Required
Experience and Training: High school graduation or its equivalent plus
two years of equipment operator experience; or any equivalent combination of
education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Required
Certificates and Licenses: Valid Class B Texas commercial driver’s
license (CDL). Starting Salary:
$11.21 per hour Closing Date: Open until filled. This posting is for a
temporary full time position expected to last less than six months. Job Title: Water Technician General
Statement of Duties: Operates various
equipment and assists with various duties involved in and the maintenance and
construction of city water system components. Required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Water
system principles, practices, procedures, and safety codes; and standard office
practices and procedures. Build, maintain,
and repair water lines; establish and maintain effective working relationships
with co-workers and the general public; communicate effectively, both orally
and in writing; and read and interpret manuals, policies, and other documents. Required
Experience and Training: High school
graduation or its equivalent plus one year of related experience; or any
equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required
knowledge, skills, and abilities. Required
Certificates and Licenses: Valid Class C Texas driver’s license; and
Class C wastewater certificate. Starting Salary:
