  • Minimum age is 18 years to be hired by the City. 
  • All City Jobs require minimum education level - successful completion of High School Diploma or GED.

  • Medical insurance for full-time employees and dependents
    • The city pays 100% of the employee medical insurance premiums (the employee is responsible for any dependent coverage, monthly premium is a payroll deduction)
  • Life insurance for employees provided by the city
  • Worker’s Compensation insurance
  • The city participates in Social Security
  • Pension - Membership in Texas Municipal Retirement System (TMRS)
    • The city matches 5% employee contributions at a rate of 2:1; vesting period of five years

  • 11 paid annual holidays; 1 paid Personal Day, available to full-time employees, in good standing, employed for six months or longer, approved in advance by Department Head.
