met in a Saturday Budget Retreat Meeting held June 22, 2019 to discuss the format changes of the upcoming budget and review some of the priorities set for the current year.&nbsp; This is a list, adopted by City Council December of 2018 that lists their main <a href="/DocumentCenter/View/1282" target="_blank" class="Hyperlink">priorities.</a>&nbsp;It was composed by Council Members Jones and Hisey.&nbsp;&nbsp;<br> The Council has approved a <a href="/DocumentCenter/View/1281" target="_blank" class="Hyperlink">calendar</a> listing several Thursdays during the summer to hold Special Called Budget Workshop Meetings.&nbsp; &nbsp;<br> The June 27th Special Budget Workshop Meeting was not held due to lack of a quorum.&nbsp;<br> The July 11th Special Budget Workshop Meeting included a presentation from Police Chief Gary Boshears.&nbsp; The following documents were reviewed and discussed.&nbsp; <a href="/DocumentCenter/View/1288" target="_blank" class="Hyperlink">Revenue and Expense Summary</a>, <a href="/DocumentCenter/View/1287" target="_blank" class="Hyperlink">Road Bond Fund update report</a> (corrected from the incorrect version discussed at the July 9, 2019 regular meeting, <a href="/DocumentCenter/View/1286" target="_blank" class="Hyperlink">Worksheet to estimate End of Year figures for the FY 2018-2019</a>, and<a href="/DocumentCenter/View/1289" target="_blank" class="Hyperlink"> Mayor Brugger's calculation of Fund Balances with options</a> (highlighting the impact of the typical fund transfers which have been done historically by the city).&nbsp; &nbsp;<br> The next meeting will be held July 18th at City Hall, in the second-floor Council Chambers at 6 PM.&nbsp; Council and staff plan to set aside a section of time to focus on Fire Chief Austin Stanphill's department budget projections/requests for next year, and Assistant City Manager Peggy Smith's proposals for the Public Works department(s) - Streets, Parks and Utility Department.&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; There is not, at this time, a preliminary budget.&nbsp;&nbsp;<br> The end of July is the deadline for the Chief Appraiser for Burnet County to provide the City with the final property tax appraisal roll.&nbsp;&nbsp;<br> At the August 13, 2019 Regular City Council Meeting, the Council is scheduled to consider and take action to set a 'Not To Exceed' property tax rate that will be considered for adoption at the first meeting in September, 2019.&nbsp;&nbsp;<br> <br> <div><span class="Apple-tab-span" style="font-size: 12pt; text-align: center; background-color: rgb(254, 255, 254); white-space: pre; color: rgb(22, 72, 141);"><b> Budget for Fiscal Year 2018-2019 started October 1, 2018 and goes to Sept 30, 2019 </b> </span>The 2018-2019 Fiscal Year for the City started October 1, 2018 and will end September 30, 2019.&nbsp; First, the City Council adopted a schedule of budget meetings.&nbsp; The first was held Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at 6 PM.&nbsp; &nbsp; The next one after was&nbsp;<a href="/DocumentCenter/View/1087" target="_blank" class="Hyperlink">August 7, 2018.&nbsp;</a>&nbsp;<br> <ul> <li>Certified Appraisal Rolls for the City of Granite Shoals, calculated by Burnet County Chief Appraiser Stan Hemphill is <a href="/DocumentCenter/View/1083" target="_blank" class="Hyperlink">here.</a></li> <li>Our tax rates were calculated for the 2018-2019 budget year - also by Chief Appraiser Stan Hemphill.&nbsp; His calculated rates are <a href="/DocumentCenter/View/1085" target="_blank" class="Hyperlink">here</a>.&nbsp; His worksheets are <a href="/DocumentCenter/View/1086" target="_blank" class="Hyperlink">here</a>.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li> <li>At the August 14, 2018 Council Meeting the Council set a 'Not to Exceed' proposed tax rate.&nbsp; Here is the <a href="/DocumentCenter/View/1091" target="_blank" class="Hyperlink">Notice</a> that was published in relation to the Tax Rate(s) and the Public Hearings thereon.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li> <li>The Notice for the Public Hearings on the 2018-2019 proposed City Budget is <a href="/DocumentCenter/View/1092" target="_blank" class="Hyperlink">here</a>.&nbsp; Additionally, you will see with this Notice, the 8-14-2018 version of the 'impact' budget form.&nbsp; This is a form that the City Council is using this year, updating as the budget process goes along, to attempt to 'track' the changes that will occur from current budget year to this upcoming (18-19) budget.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li> <li>Budget / Tax Rate Notices for the Public Hearings were posted on the city bulletin boards August 17, 2018.&nbsp;
