Face Masks required in Granite Shoals under Mayoral Order

Starting at Midnight this morning, in Granite Shoals you need to wear a facial covering if you are going inside a business, or if you work in a business here.  

This mask requirement is very similar to the rules for Marble Falls, so it should not be a significant burden to comply with the rule when trading with a business there or trading with a business here. 

City Council considered the Mayor's Order at their Special Called City Council meeting last night.  The item was added on as an emergency addendum item.

There does appear to be a 'lag' between the diagnosis and time the case is reported.

Coronavirus (Covid-19) in Granite Shoals

Texas Governor Greg Abbott issued Declaration of Emergency related to the Covid-19 pandemic on March 13, 2020.   

On Tuesday, March 31, Governor Abbot issued a state wide order, GA-14, stating “every person in the State of Texas shall, except where necessary to provide or obtain essential services, minimize social gathering and minimize in-person contact with people who are not in the same household.” The order defines essential services and what is and essential critical infrastructure workforce that can continue to operate / provide services. The governor’s order superseded Judge Oakley’s STAY IN PLACE AND STAY SAFE order, which Oakley rescinded.   

Mayor Brugger issued a Emergency Declaration on March 17, 2020 which listed the emergency procedures that will be observed within the city limits.   This Declaration was extended via City Council action to last through April 24, 2020 by Resolution 636.   On April 21, 2020 by unanimous vote of City Council, Resolution 636 was extended through September 30, 2020 via Resolution #638.  

The City of Granite Shoals City Hall will be closed to the public during the Shelter in Place per this Notice from City Manager Jeff Looney issued 3/25/2020.

There are no Notary Public services available at City Hall during the Covid-19 shut down.  We will resume performing these for citizens when it is safe to do so.   

The Burnet and Llano County Health Officials issued this flyer regarding strategies for mitigating this Coronavirus Outbreak.    

Per Governor Abbots Declaration of Emergency, the City has been authorized to meet via 'on-line' platforms.  All meetings which will be conducted via internet will have instructions included on the meeting agenda to direct citizens how to 'log-in' and hear the meeting.

Water Bills and Court payments can be made by placing the payment (no cash please) into the overnight drop box at City Hall.   The nearest place to purchase a money order is at Bucks convenience store on the corner of N. Phillips Ranch Road and RR 1431.

The Senior Citizens Activities are NOT being held on Tuesdays and Thursdays until after the Shelter in Place Order is lifted.
