Airport Advisory Committee

Airport Advisory Committee

The Airport Advisory Committee advises the City Council on safety, operational improvements, and future development of the Granite Shoals / Bob Sylvester Airport (Airpark 2G5). Meeting monthly, the committee reviews airport safety signage, flight procedures, and infrastructure upgrades—such as helipad installation, segmented circle signals, windsocks, parking, and tie-down amenities—to enhance public use and pilot convenience. Their work is guided by ordinances and supported through a modest city budget, with planning and execution often carried out through volunteer effort, donations, and community events like “Meet the Pilots.”
